Marmaris Kemer Gulet Tour

DAY 1: En Route
Depart the U.S.A. on your flight to Turkey.
DAY 2: Arrive Istanbul - Marmaris - Ekincik
Meet our guide transfer and board the yacht in Marmaris and following
lunch, sail for Ekincik Bay. Meet a river boat for a trip to
ancient Caunos, the ruins of which include a theatre, a
Byzantine church, a Roman bath house and an Agora, or market
place. For the adventurous, there is an acropolis on the
hill above the site, which rewards the climber with a
magnificent view of the entire area. As we head up-river to
the town of Dalyan, we pass beneath some impressive Lycian
rock tombs. Enjoy a brief stroll through the town before
returning to the yacht in Ekincik. Dinner ashore at My
Marina Restaurant in Ekincik Bay. ![]()
DAY 3: Kizilkuyruk
Depart after breakfast for Kizilkuyruk Harbor. Explore
ancient Lydae on the hill above the bay, returning to the
gulet for lunch. To Tomb Bay in the afternoon and a chance
to take a small hike up to the tombs before returning to the
yacht for the evening meal. ![]()

DAY 4: Fethiye - Yassica - Boynuz Buku - Gocek
We spend a relaxing day on the
beautiful Gulf of Fethiye, visiting such picturesque spots
as the Yassica Islands and Boynuz Buku before making our way
into Gocek Harbor. Gocek is a delightful port town with an
amazing variety of shops and some very fine restaurants. The
town quay is the centre of all activity with a wide
promenade bordered by park gardens. ![]()

DAY 5: Gemiler
Crossing the Gulf of Fethiye, we reach Gemiler Island by
lunchtime. Following a relaxing afternoon of swimming and
snorkeling over sunken ruins, we take a tender boat ashore
to explore the island. Walk around the remains of a sizeable
Byzantine settlement and see a beautiful mosaic in one of
the churches. Marvel at the covered walkway and peer into
dwellings and a cistern. Take advantage of the fabulous view
from the summit and sit down with champagne glass in hand
whilst watching the sun set over the sea. Dinner at a quaint
restaurant ashore. ![]()

DAY 6: Kalkan
After breakfast, depart for the long cruise past the Seven Capes to Kalkan.
Lunch in the harbor, then enjoy an overland tour to the
Lycian cities of Letoon, Patara and Xanthos. Xanthos was the
capital of the Lycian league, which rose to the height of
its splendor in the 10th century BC. Patara, recognized by
scholars as the birthplace of Apollo, has a magnificent
history dating back as far as the 7th-century BC. Patara was
an important place of trade in antiquity and excavations
being carried out today are uncovering more and more of this
extensive site. Letoon was a place of worship for the people
of Xanthos and the most important ruins are those of the
Temples of Leto, Apollo and Artemis. Letoon is cited in many
guidebooks as one of the most delightful sites in Lycia.

DAY 7: Castellorizon - Kas
A visit to the Greek island of
Castellorizon with its beautiful Blue Grotto and charming
little Harbor. Return to the mainland of Turkey for a night
out in the lively port town of Kas. Walk to the theatre of
ancient Antiphellos and dine out harbor side, watching the
day drift into night. ![]()

DAY 8: Polemos Buku - Ucagiz
Early morning departure for the Kekova Roads. Lunch in
Polemos Buku can be followed by a half-mile walk over the
isthmus to the ruins of Aperlae. Later in the afternoon, we
anchor beneath the medieval castle of ancient Simena at
Kale. An energetic climb up the hill behind the village
takes us to the castle where we enjoy an excellent view of
the Kekova Roads. From here we can also see the remains of
the old quay, a partially-submerged sarcophagus and some
interesting steps cut into rocks. Overnight in nearby Ucagiz,
with dinner ashore. ![]()

DAY 9: Kekova - Gokkaya
This morning we sail alongside Kekova Island to view the sunken
city before moving on into Gokkaya Harbor for the remainder
of the day. Gokkaya is made up of numerous little inlets and
islands and is the perfect place for swimming and snorkeling
or just relaxing on the deck. ![]()

DAY 10: Andraki - Demre - Finike
After breakfast, depart for Andraki. From here,
it is possible to take a short overland trip to ancient Myra
and the nearby town of Demre. The site of Myra has a
well-preserved theatre, walls of Lycian rock tombs and an
acropolis. A number of the rock tombs are decorated with
friezes. St. Nicholas (Santa Claus) was bishop of Myra in
the 4th century and in the village of Demre, stands his
church. If there is time, take a visit to the ancient city
of Arykanda and lunch on fresh trout there in the hills.

DAY 11: Olympos - Cirali - Harbor
A morning cruise to Port Genovese then on to
Cirali. Arriving here in the early afternoon, view the ruins
of ancient Olympos, which was built on the banks of a river
and today is covered in dense vegetation. From Olympos, it
is a one and a half hours walk to the "Chimaera" - a natural
phenomena. Overnight in Cirali Harbor. ![]()

DAY 12: Phaselis - Kemer - Istanbul
Explore the picturesque site of Phaselis,
in the morning, and continue on to Kemer for an early
afternoon disembarkation. Transfer to Airport. End of our
